Purple-flowering selection
Farm-saved seed
This purple coneflower seed was saved from plants grown on our Missouri property. Purple coneflower is a perennial with upright stems and long-lasting purple blooms. It attracts bees and other pollinators and can be grown in garden beds, borders, meadows, or for cut flowers. Plants are generally hardy and tolerate heat, drought, and poor soil.
Coverage: 0.24g covers approximately 5.31 square feet
How to Use / Planting Notes
Seeds may be sown directly outdoors in fall or spring. Seeds benefit from cold stratification for improved germination. Keep soil evenly moist until seedlings are established. Once established, plants are low-maintenance and suitable for a variety of garden settings.
What the Plants Need
Light: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Average, well-drained soil
Water: Moderate, regular watering while establishing
Important Notes
This is farm-saved, open-pollinated seed sold without varietal designation. Natural variation may occur in plant height, bloom timing, and flower form. No germination testing or performance guarantees are provided.
